Born in Latvia, Zita Sudnika started her artistic education at the age of 10, and rounded it off with a Master's degree from the Latvian Academy of Art in Riga.

Zita settled in Cairns Australia in 2008, and she now perceives Australia as her second home, her southern parallel.

Throughout her professional career, Zita has mostly worked with oil on canvas, sometimes adding an element of metallic leaf.

Whilst always a freelance artist, Zita's professional history includes  tutoring art and also experience as a gallery director.

Zita has participated in many solo and collective exhibitions, in her native Latvia, in several other European countries and in Australia. Her works are mainly in private collections in Europe, USA, Canada and now also in Australia.
